Ouija Board Tattoo

Tattoos are more popular than ever before, thanks to celebrities and social media influencers like Kylie Jenner and the Kardashians getting inked up. In fact, people ages 18-49 with tattoos have increased by 25% since 2003. But tattoos aren't just about ink on a person. They're also about creativity and personal expression. Some people get inked as a tribute, others to convey a message, and some just because they think it looks good. But what about those who get tattoos for darker reasons? What about those who get inked with designs that actually come from occult practices? While some people follow the darker aspects of tattooing, others consider it a fun way to connect with their psychic abilities. Anyone who has ever had a Ouija board, or a crystal ball tattoo has probably already been asked, "What does it mean?"

"I have psychic abilities, and I wanted to get something to show the world. Something that would symbolize my ability," says a 20-year-old woman who calls herself MidWest Tattoo. "I don't really see it as occult at all — it's just art." Actually, MidWest is not the only one doing this. There are plenty of people out there who believe that tattoos are ways for them to connect with the powers of the spirit world. Others want to communicate with their dead relatives or attempt to contact spirits from beyond our reach.

So, what do they hope to achieve from their Ouija board or crystal ball tattoos? Let's find out.

Why are there so many Ouija board tattoos?

Dana White, a 25-year-old woman who has an active interest in the occult, says that she sees Ouija board tattoos as a way to fuel her own beliefs. "I have always been interested in the supernatural and things of that sort," she says. "So naturally when I got my first tattoo, I wanted it to be something based on those beliefs."

"I have always been fascinated by psychic abilities like telekinesis and seeing spirits," MidWest says. "I wanted to get something on my body that I could connect with those powers."

MidWest says that she also sees it as a way to connect with her deceased great-grandmother. "My grandma passed away a while ago, and I'd like to think she's still around. And since I couldn't see her with my eyes, the Ouija board helped me connect on a more spiritual level," she explains. "She gave me advice about how I should be living my life and how much she loved me."

Why are there so many crystal ball tattoos?

While Ouija board tattoos may not be as common as other visible tattoos, crystal ball tattoos are still very common. "I wanted to get a tattoo that I could see with my eyes and communicate with spirits," says Shelly, who doesn't want her last name used because she wants to keep her current employment private. "Through the crystal ball, I'd have the chance to see my future and also communicate with other spirits."

A 39-year-old woman who calls herself Mother Nature says that she got a crystal ball tattoo as a way of learning about nature and the universe. "When I was much younger, I was always interested in the different stars and planets," Mother Nature says. "I also wanted something for me to connect me to nature.
